I began tutoring at 826 Valencia when I was a sophomore in high school, and I’ve remained involved with their LA chapter 826LA. I have created and led several workshops, one designed for writing with visual prompts, and another devoted to writing for screen and television.

The 826 mission is to teach creative and expository writing to under-resourced students, and to help teachers inspire their students to write. I have seen firsthand the necessity of strong writing skills in future success, both inside and outside the classroom, and I would encourage anyone with an interest in educational equity to volunteer or donate.
